Intro to Spanish For Ages 6–10 Fall 2025 Session: September 17 – November 20 Wednesdays & Thursdays | 7:00–7:40 PM EDT Offered by Sankofa Homeschool Collective in partnership with Resplendence Language Arts Give your child a joyful entry into Spanish through this culturally rooted, beginner-friendly course designed especially for young learners. Taught by Teacher Lady, an Afro-Colombian educator with a love for language and identity, this class brings Spanish to life with music, storytelling, games, and real-world conversation practice. Over ten weeks, students will explore: Common greetings and everyday phrases Numbers, colors, and fun vocabulary Basic sentence patterns Cultural snapshots from Afro-Latino communities Your child will grow in confidence, gain foundational Spanish skills, and connect language with culture all in a warm, supportive learning space. 🌍 Taught with love, rhythm, and roots. 📚 Twice a week and live on Zoom. Class Skills Development
By the end of this course, students will be able to: Greet others and introduce themselves in Spanish Count from 1 to 20 and identify basic shapes and colors Use simple phrases to describe family members, emotions, and favorite things Recognize and respond to common classroom and everyday vocabulary Demonstrate beginner-level pronunciation and listening comprehension Understand the cultural richness of Afro-Colombian Spanish-speaking communities

About the Instructor
Teacher Lady is an Afro Colombian language educator passionate about uplifting cultural identity through the power of words. Born and raised in Colombia, she brings both personal heritage and professional training into every class. With over 5 years experience teaching Spanish from a diasporic perspective, her sessions blend rhythm, storytelling, and cultural pride. She believes language is a bridge between generations and across continents.
