Class Description

Year-Round Pre-K/1st Exploration in Yoga,  Arts,  Meditation, Mindfulness,

Science,  Pan-African Cultures, Reading &  Math

Class Skills Development 

Emotional intelligence, yoga, breathing techniques, reading fundamentals (letters, sounds, and combinations) some ASL and Swahili, Math, Count by Rhythms, addition and subtraction, problem solving, art, African geography and history,

Here also are the *Art Supplies* I use:

- Oil pastels

- Watercolor 

- Watercolor pencils

- Markers

- Crayons

- Acrylic paint

- Oil paint (for finger painting)

- Some type of cloth to protect furniture

- Colorful paper

- Cardstock paper or watercolor book

- Safety scissors only when needed

I like to have them vary up the medium on Tuesdays Word Art Day to get used to how each one feels and makes them feel - if you want the links I use, I can get you those, or you can just collect them over time (what I recommend). We’ll only need specific ones for specific projects

About the Instructor

Preshona Ambri, M.Ed is a passionate, non-traditional educator & creative whose purpose and mission is to spread the stories of people of color on this planet. Combining many of her fields of practice, her Masters in Special Education, and B.A. in Media Cross-Cultural Hegemony with Spanish & International Studies Minors, she created the bilingual I Am Sun program, to prepare young students for both life and college-prep exams from a young age, while embracing perspectives, stories & histories of students of color.
