Class Description
This class is perfect for those familiar with basic phrases and vocabulary, this course offers a fresh lineup of topics to broaden your understanding and conversational abilities. We’ll explore themes such as travel, nature, hobbies, and everyday scenarios relevant to modern Swahili-speaking communities. Through engaging activities and real-life dialogues, you’ll enhance your language skills, build confidence, and enjoy a richer, more dynamic introduction to Swahili conversation.
Class Skills Development
By the end this course, learners will have expanded their vocabulary to cover a broader range of topics, from travel and nature to everyday activities. They will understand essential grammar rules, enabling them to form accurate sentences and express ideas with confidence. Pronunciation will improve, helping them to speak clearly, and their listening skills will allow them to understand Swahili in varied contexts. Learners will be able to hold simple conversations on new topics, read short texts, and write coherent sentences. Additionally, they will gain insights into Swahili-speaking cultures, equipping them to use the language with cultural awareness and respect.
Class Materials
No materials are required. Student should bring a notebook and a pen to class.
Class Norms
Students are expected to: be punctual for class, always have their cameras on (unless there is a valid reason not to), respect each others opinion, be courteous, choose a non - distractive space and be attentive and engaged in class.
About the Instructor
My name is Muthoni. I am the Lead Swahili teacher at Resplendence Language Arts. I am a passionate linguist born and raised in Kenya, East Africa. I hold a degree in Swahili and currently pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in education (Kiswahili / History). I have been teaching the language for more than six years. I enjoy teaching my native languages, history, and culture. Besides Swahili, I also teach Kamba. I stand for the unity of Africa.
