Class Description

Ubora Algebra 1 & 2 is a dynamic, culturally grounded High School Math course that combines the full curricula of Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 into one powerful learning experience. Scholars will explore equations, functions, inequalities, polynomials, quadratic and exponential expressions, and real-World problem-solving while developing critical thinking skills that extend beyond the classroom. Rooted in the principles of Sankofa, the course connects Mathematical concepts to African contributions in Mathematics, making learning both rigorous and relevant. By the end of the semester, students will have a strong Algebraic foundation, increased confidence in tackling complex problems, and the skills needed for advanced Math and Science courses.

Class Skills Development

Solve and graph linear, quadratic, and exponential equations and inequalities. Apply algebraic reasoning to real-world and culturally relevant problems. Analyze and interpret functions using multiple representations (graphical, algebraic, numerical). Simplify and manipulate polynomials, radicals, and rational expressions. Use Algebra to model patterns, trends, and relationships in data. Communicate Mathematical thinking clearly and effectively.
