Class Description
Yorùbá Language is spoken by the Yorùbá people who are located in the Western part of Nigeria. Yorùbá is becoming a fast widely acceptable Language as a result of its role in the popular Afro beat and the most interesting thing about Yoruba is the richness of their culture. The theme for this session is ''Daily routine''. Under this theme, we will have fun filled practical on day-to-day activities and also explore Yoruba culture through story telling. This theme will help students in constructing sentences because they will be learning useful verbs and phrases in an interesting way. The theme will be taught using practical, poems, games and virtual field trip.
Class Skills Development
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to: Make simple sentences relating to hygiene in Yoruba Know the means of transportation Speak about their waking up and getting ready activities Shop in a Yoruba market Conversate with relatives on phone call using checking-up phrases.

About the Instructor
Oluko Bolanle is a native Yoruba speaker and a Yoruba Language and Literature graduate from Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode Ogun State, Nigeria with second class upper division in year 2017. She served for a year at Ijebu-Ode Grammar School in Ogun State and had her NYSC certificate in 2019. She proceeded to Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos Nigeria where she had a master's degree in Yoruba Literature and culture as well. She has a professional certificate for African Language Pedagogy from National African Language Resource Center (NALRC), Indiana University, Bloomington, in USA. She is a registered teacher with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Oluko Bolanle has been teaching kids and adults in Yorubabasics online school for the past seven years. She enjoys promoting Yoruba Language and Culture, and meeting people.
