Class Description
This course is designed for those who have completed the Swahili for Complete Beginners course or have basic knowledge of Swahili phrases and vocabulary. It will help learners build a solid foundation in the language, focusing on essential grammar, pronunciation, and conversational skills. Through interactive lessons and practical exercises, learners will gain confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Swahili.
Class Skills Development
By the end of the Swahili for Beginners course, learners will have expanded your vocabulary to include a wider range of everyday Swahili words and phrases. They will understand fundamental grammar rules, enabling them to form correct sentences. Their pronunciation will improve, and they'll develop better listening skills to comprehend spoken Swahili in various contexts. They will be able to engage in basic conversations on common topics, read simple texts, and write coherent sentences and short paragraphs. Additionally, they will gain insights into Swahili-speaking cultures, helping them to use the language appropriately.
Class Materials
No materials are required. Student should bring a notebook and a pen to class.
Class Norms
Students are expected to: be punctual for class, always have their cameras on (unless there is a valid reason not to), respect each others opinion, be courteous, choose a non - distractive space and be attentive and engaged in class.
About the Instructor
My name is Muthoni. I am the Lead Swahili teacher at Resplendence Language Arts. I am a passionate linguist born and raised in Kenya, East Africa. I hold a degree in Swahili and currently pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in education (Kiswahili / History). I have been teaching the language for more than six years. I enjoy teaching my native languages, history, and culture. Besides Swahili, I also teach Kamba. I stand for the unity of Africa.
