Class Description

Conversational Swahili is ideal for learners who have a basic understanding of Swahili and want to improve their speaking and listening skills. This course focuses on practical communication, enhancing your ability to converse fluently in various everyday situations. Through interactive dialogues, role-plays, and real-life scenarios, you'll gain the confidence to engage in meaningful conversations in Swahili.

 

Class Skills Development 

By the end of the Conversational Swahili course, Learners will be able to participate in more complex and fluent conversations on a variety of topics. Their listening skills will be enhanced, allowing them to understand spoken Swahili in diverse and practical contexts. They will achieve clearer and more accurate pronunciation and expand their vocabulary relevant to everyday interactions. They will also incorporate common idiomatic expressions and phrases into their speech, navigate cultural nuances, and communicate appropriately in Swahili-speaking settings. Ultimately, learners will speak Swahili with increased confidence and spontaneity.

 

Class Materials 

No materials are required. Student should bring a notebook and a pen to class. 

 

Class Norms 

Students are expected to: be punctual for class, always have their cameras on (unless there is a valid reason not to), respect each others opinion, be courteous, choose a non - distractive space and be attentive and engaged in class.

 

About the Instructor 

My name is Muthoni. I am the Lead Swahili teacher at Resplendence Language Arts. I am a passionate linguist born and raised in Kenya, East Africa. I hold a degree in Swahili and currently pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in education. I have been teaching the language for more than six years. I enjoy teaching my native languages, history, and culture. Besides Swahili, I also teach Kamba. I stand for the unity of Africa.
