Class Description

Created with the spirit of children in mind, this online class is an invitation for the whole family, and most importantly, our junior herbalists. This class is a call to slow down, listen, awaken, and nourish our sense of curiosity and connection to the plant world. Through storytelling, song, creativity, seed sowing, plant identification, creative writing, art making, guided meditations, and herbal recipes, we will tap into a deeper inner knowing and wisdom of the Earth. These times are fertile, our world is changing before our eyes and more than ever we need to sharpen our senses and be open to receive guidance from the plant world. May it be so, so it is! With a global mindset and vision resting at the intersection of sustainability, wellness, and permaculture, Charlene aims to give a life-changing introduction to the world of herbalism to the youth. This online class also highlights the basis of a nutritional understanding through hands-on herbal preparations. Get ready to mix up new recipes in the kitchen, use spices and herbs you never knew had wellness-promoting properties and walk away inspired!

Class Skills Development

At the end of this class, children will feel the call to slow down and awaken to a world that is right outside their door. Children will begin their path a junior herbalists. Charlene is a mother of three beautiful children. For the past seven years, she has been working as a forest school educator for children and youth where her focus is indigenous culture, history, and values. Charlene is a mother, birth keeper, certified family herbalist, lover of yellow, and homemaking. Charlene is a truth-seeker and, in the soil, she found acceptance and appreciation for the mysteries of life. In the plants, she found the medicine to tend her body, mind, and heart. In nature, she found teachers of presence, compassion, and unconditional love. In the cycles and rhythms of the natural world both within and externally, she found truth.
